Visited South Africa in late 1999 to attend the first SATUG (South African Tandem User Group). The IT Conference was in Sandton (at the Hilton). Over the weekend, I visited Sun City (stayed at the Palce of the Lost City) and the nearby game park Pilanesberg. SATUG website.
